Very well played, so kudos to the musicians. There is, however, a reason Franck's chamber works don't get played much. These pieces are not very interesting. There was nothing that stirred me, nothing making me eager to listen to again. I don't believe the musicians could have approached these pieces differently to enhance the experience. Of the 2 pieces, the piano quintet was the more 'listenable'. Perhaps other listeners won't hear it this way; perhaps to someone else, these works will hit home. Neither inspired me. My thought: Cesar--stick to the organ.'
