How to downgrade from 1.13D to 1.13C without uninstalling!

You can downgrade diablo 2 if you have an older game.exe. It turns out this is the only file the updater checks. If you download an old game.exe from blizzard http://ftp.blizzard.com/pub/diablo2exp/patches/PC/game-lod.zip Then replace your game.exe with this game.exe you can downgrade to 1.13C. Just download it here http://ftp.blizzard.com/pub/diablo2exp/patches/PC/LODPatch_113c.exe.

This worked for me and now I can use the slashdiablo maphack perfectly. Convert .dmp in dng file.

Hey folks,
I really need a way to downgrade my d2 version to 1.13 or lower to be able to use make ladder rws in SP.
NOTE: I am using MACOS, so I will try to find a way by using wineskin to make d2 1.13 or lower work on my system.
Anybody knows a save place to find a 1.13c or lower file of d2? I cannot think of any reason why blizzard disabled ladder rws in single player.. It's frustrating.

On Windows you can delete patch_d2.mpq and use the executables and new data files from the patch archive in order to downgrade. I am fairly certain the same strategy should work on mac with a little effort.

Frustrating. I don't know why blizzard didn't simply put the ladder rw's into the SP version of the game, thus making life for us single player gamers a lot harder now, especially on Mac.

Maybe 1.15 will make ladder-only rune words available for SP.

Listen guy, single player is easy enough without that added hoopla guy. Only the spoiled brats need extra mods for an already easy game.

i don't really care how easy it is, I want to make some endgame items, because of I like to collect some stuff.

i don't want to play online. I don't want to be involved in any trading nor I want to interact with other players. I simply want to walk through the game with players 8 and enjoy it for nostalgic reasons. BUT I want to enable ladder rws because I like the endgame rw's etc.

D2 1.13 works perfectly fine with Wine under Linux, so I recommend you give it a try on your mac. I even created 2 wineprefixes: one for 1.13 with plugy for singleplayer and another for 1.14d when I occasionally ladder.

Try to google plugY mod ( D2SE ) it has all you really need.

Overall very fun to play
